Testimonies of Healing
Christian Science found me at a time of extreme need. We had transferred from our city dwelling to a small Kansas farm town.
From early childhood, through my school years, my marriage, and my part in rearing three children, Christian Science has been a beacon, a bulwark, and a blessing. Through innumerable and varied phases of human experience it has brought me satisfying answers and solutions.
For some time I have felt I must express the deep sense of gratitude I have for the great change which has taken place in my whole existence since I learned of Christian Science. As a small child I was highly strung and felt joys and sorrows intensely.
My first healing through Christian Science was that of measles and took place when I was a little girl. I remember that a practitioner came and sat quietly by my bedside when I was tossing and turning.
One afternoon, my husband sent me on a business errand. As I approached a familiar railway crossing, I stopped.
My testimony of gratitude for Christian Science is long overdue. I was protected and guided during my youth, and because I was reared in a Christian Science home, I had very few problems to meet.
When Christian Science first came to my attention, I was a student in a hospital training school for nurses. While on vacation at the home of a relative, I was asked for my opinion of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.
I have enjoyed the benefits of a Christian Science home and family since birth, but I have learned that even one so blessed must be born again and make the truth his own. I am grateful for a remarkable freedom from disease and from limitation in many areas of experience all through my life, and I feel this is in itself a demonstration of the divine harmony.
My family and I have enjoyed the healing power of Christian Science for many years. I came into Science as a young girl after witnessing my mother's healing of a severe nervous breakdown.
The great good that Christian Science is doing in the world today makes us all who understand it appreciate Mrs. Eddy's love for mankind and her life of self-sacrifice.
