Testimonies of Healing

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought me. One was the healing of an acute attack of food poisoning that occurred some time ago.

I have never ceased to be grateful to the friend who introduced my husband and me to Christian Science. I was always fascinated when this friend talked about God, but it did not occur to me to investigate this religion.

One morning two summers ago I awakened feeling quite ill. All sense of equilibrium was gone, and there was extreme dizziness and nausea.

Christian Science was presented to my husband and me at a time of financial depression, when all sources of income seemed to be disappearing quickly. We were becoming fearful, for this was at a time when our young children were attending private schools, as all the children of our friends were.

Frequently a student of Christian Science is asked, "Can I be healed through Christian Science treatment if I know nothing about this religion?" I can truly answer Yes, for I was healed instantaneously of peptic and duodenal ulcers from which I had suffered thirteen years. During this time I lived on a diet of milk and very bland strained food, and was under constant medication and medical supervision.

When I was a young child, I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. There I began to learn something of God and His creation, including man, and what I learned has proved invaluable as a practical and effective way to solve any problem.

With a heart full of gratitude for Christian Science and our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who made this wonderful divine law available to us, I wish to submit this testimony. It was the opinion of several physicians that because of pernicious anemia my mother had probably only a few days to live.

As the oldest of six children raised in a Christian Science home by a devoted mother who guided our thoughts and footsteps in the truth and emphasized the importance of turning to God for a solution to all our problems, I experienced and witnessed many remarkable healings. The healing of double pneumonia occurred while I was a young child.

Shortly after my mother became interested in Christian Science some fifty years ago, she enrolled me in the Sunday School. I also saw how Christian Science was loved and lived in the home of dear friends, which contributed much to the molding of my character.
