Testimonies of Healing

It is ten years since my testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel . I would like to give further proof of God's guidance and care.

A few years ago I was struggling to find myself. As a boy, I had been brought up in a fine Christian family and had attended an orthodox Sunday School.

A dear friend tried to tell me about Christian Science, but her words went in one ear and out the other. A few years later, however, a fellow employee told me that his wife had never had a cold in her life.

I would indeed be ungrateful if I did not share the good news of this healing. The testimonies of others have helped me in working out my own problems.

My mother used to take me to the nursery of a Church of Christ, Scientist, when I was a baby. Later I was enrolled in the Sunday School, which I attended until I was twenty years old and where I received a good foundation in Christian Science.

Christian Science was introduced to our family when doctors had given up all hope of my mother's recovery from a stomach ailment. Due to her healing through Christian Science treatment, she had thirty-eight more active and fruitful years.

I am deeply grateful for Christian Science and for all of the good that the study of Christian Science has brought to my experience. While I was touring with a ballet company, I became so despondent that I did not care about anything.

I first learned of Christian Science in my early twenties. At that time I was suffering from a bowel condition which caused much weakness, and the condition was believed to be inherited.

Being a young mother, I can certainly enjoy and appreciate the wonderful blessing it is to be able to raise a child in Christian Science. Whenever anxiety, confusion, or seeming problems arise, one is always able to turn with confidence to God and know that "he hath done all things well"! ( Mark 7:37.

What a joy and privilege it is to be a Christian Scientist! I remember thinking when I was quite young how wonderful Christian Science must be. The love, harmony, and joy expressed by a dear aunt and uncle and their family, students of Science, were always something I desired more than anything.
