Even though my parents are not students of Christian Science, I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School for a few years. It was natural therefore that I turn to Christian Science in a time of need many years later when, among other things, I became concerned about my heavy drinking.
Even though I had not been interested in church for years and rarely attended, I was sure I could be healed through Christian Science if only I could find the right practitioner to help me. I was completely unacquainted with Christian Scientists where I lived, and as I looked through the names of practitioners listed in the Journal, none stood out to me.
I decided to trust God completely. Whenever mortal mind would taunt me about not having found a practitioner, I would answer with childlike trust that God knew my need and at the right time I would be led to the right one in His own way.
