In our home we have had many proofs of God's healing power, as well as of a sense of peace and well-being engendered by His loving protection and care.
I am especially grateful for the quick healing, through the application of prayer as we are taught in Christian Science, of burns of the face and chest experienced by our younger son three summers ago. He was standing near a campfire with a group of boys when one of the boys threw an empty aerosol can into the fire. The can exploded, spraying fire and hot liquid. One side of our son's face, his ear, and his lower chest were affected.
My wife and I were called to his bedside in the camp infirmary, where he had been made as comfortable as possible pending our arrival within an hour after the accident. We declared the presence and power of God right then and there, as He is all-powerful always and everywhere. Our son gave the name of the Christian Science practitioner whom he wanted called. A phone call across thousands of miles brought the practitioner's reassuring words of God's restorative power.
