The Perpetuity of Good

From the May 1969 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The life of Christ Jesus was conclusive proof of the perpetuity of good. From it we may all take heart. Through the Master's full demonstration of the truth that he came to proclaim, all mankind have been shown the way to find the solution to any kind of problem that confronts them. He proved irrefutably that God, the source of all goodness, does not come and go but perpetually manifests Himself. Therefore His care for His creation is unceasing, continual. His love for you and me is active and effective at this very moment. Being confident of Love's unchanging nature, Jesus looked to the divine Mind in every need, always finding Immanuel, or "God with us." Therein is our assurance too that no inharmony, or absence of good, can ever be actual or real.

Turning to ever-available Spirit, the Christian Scientist can witness proof of man's dominion over all the earth. He sees that, as in Jesus' time, the same healing power of the Christ is at hand to be utilized and demonstrated.

In the book of James we read that God is "the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17; Never variable, but always constant, the law of God, or good, unfailingly operates as a law of protection and guidance, of restoration and healing. The actuality that unlimited good is constantly being expressed because its source is constantly manifesting itself is a fact upon which healing work may be based.
