Testimonies of Healing
I write this testimony with a great sense of gratitude in my heart for our wonderful religion and for the unselfish and loyal practitioners who are available whenever they are needed. Sometime ago I found myself in a paralyzed condition and needed help right away.
I came into Christian Science, not for a physical healing, but because I was dissatisfied with the old order of things, which was crumbling around me and was leaving me homeless, jobless, separated from friends. In one treatment from a practitioner I was healed of grief and sorrow, so that my outlook was changed to one of happiness and peace, and it seemed as if I moved on air.
Boundless gratitude for God's grace, in that He has brought Christian Science to me and with it the understanding that man is His image and likeness, prompts me to relate a healing which took place more than sixteen years ago. I met with an accident.
When Christian Science was first presented to me by my wife, I could not see how it could possibly heal one of sickness or any physical difficulty. But after I had treatment from a practitioner for a severe case of food poisoning and was healed instantly, and a short time later was healed instantly of an ulcerated tooth, I knew that Science healed.
I wish to express my gratitude for a healing for which I shall be eternally grateful. It has certainly been a staff on which to lean.
From early childhood, I can recall seeing the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, in our home.
Christian Science has blessed my experience since I was a young child. When a toddler, I put my hand into a can of poisonous cleaning compound and then into my mouth.
Gratitude for all the avenues of good that Christian Science has opened in my life prompts me to write this testimony. Before I began to study Science, I was enslaved by the smoking habit.
I am grateful for many years' help from Christian Science. My first healing was that of a severe attack of food poisoning.
With deep gratitude I can testify that I owe to Christian Science all I have today or have ever known of joy, satisfaction, and abundant health. Doctors attendant at my birth predicted that I would live a year at most and that if I did live longer, I would always be weak and sickly.
