For many years Christian Science has been my only physician. Unlike the experiences of many, my first interest in it did not develop from a physical healing.
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I testify to the bountiful blessings that I have received through the study of Christian Science. I am thankful for a religious mother and for the atmosphere of religious teaching in our home during my childhood.
" To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings. " When that first sentence from the Preface to our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, came to my attention, I knew that I had found the truth, from which I could never turn away.
A friend who knew that our family was in great need of the healing truth of Christian Science directed us to the home of a practitioner. I shall never forget the love and understanding with which she greeted us.
This era in which we are now living is surely blessed by the lifework of Mary Baker Eddy, the greatest spiritual thinker since Jesus' time. She has left us the fruit of her years of consecrated work, the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, the key that has opened the Bible for thousands of people who can testify to Truth's healing power.
It has been such a blessing to me for so long a time to read the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals that I must prove my gratitude for this channel of good by sharing one or two of my healings with others who are seeking inspiration as I have done for so many years. Christian Science has meant everything to me and mine.
That Christian Science heals I can truly affirm from experience. While I was unloading a five-hundred-pound barrel of oil from a trailer truck, the barrel slipped and crashed against the door of the truck.
Such great gratitude fills my thought when I realize what Christian Science has done for me and my children that I want to share my happiness in the hope of helping someone who needs help. It was nineteen years ago that curiosity led me to a Church of Christ, Scientist, and from the first I was overjoyed with its teachings.
My heart overflows with gratitude for the good that God is giving to individuals and the world through Christian Science. Even a small understanding of Christian Science is often adequate to meet a problem with swift and certain results if applied with earnestness, integrity, selflessness, and humility.
