Testimonies of Healing

It is with great joy that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. It found me at a time of great unhappiness and ill-health.

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science and for Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, who gave us this wonderful religion. A healing that has taught me many treasured lessons was one which a small child in our family experienced.

It is the deep gratitude I have for Christian Science that prompts me to tell of the healing which brought me into its study. This was a healing of lack.

" Man's extremity is God's opportunity. " The truth of this saying has often been proved to me.

It is with humility and gratitude that I submit proof of the efficacy of Christian Science. My first experience with this religion came by way of a physical healing when I was a lad of sixteen.

After having experienced help and a better understanding of Christian Science through reading the authorized periodicals for many years, I should like to express my gratitude. Words are inadequate to tell of the joy and harmony Christian Science has brought me.

While I was serving as Second Reader of a branch church, many proofs of the omnipresence of good unfolded in my experience. An example is the protection I received one Saturday night when I slipped on a spot of oil on the concrete floor of my garage and sat down with great force.

Many years ago I uttered a desire to know if God was a reality or only a name. Life appeared so complex and such a mystery.

Attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School from my early years until I was twenty has indeed been a pearl of great price. The firm foundation which is gained there enables the children to meet any problem and is a source of much joy and gratitude.

My introduction to Christian Science came at a time of great mental stress brought on by jealousy, deceit, and fear, which resulted in a form of nervous breakdown. I was living at the home of friends, one of whom was a devoted Christian Scientist.
