Testimonies of Healing

This testimony is to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science, which was first demonstrated by Christ Jesus and revealed to this age by Mary Baker Eddy. I have had its blessings through many years.

I started attending the Christian Science Sunday School with neighbors when I was seventeen. From then on for some time I attended fairly regularly, but I did not put first things first.

" Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" ( 1 Cor. 6:20 ).

In December, 1936, I found myself at the termination of a partnership, entirely on my own, and with no visible source of supply. All I had was sales ability and excellent connections throughout the province of British Columbia, Canada, with the retail trade in ladies' ready-to-wear clothing.

I should like to express my deep gratitude for the many healings and for the great joy that I have had since coming into Christian Science. My first healing came before I knew anything of this religion except that some relatives who were members of a Church of Christ, Scientist, said that they had had healings through it.

Through the years that I have been a student of Christian Science, I have always been helped and comforted by reading the testimonies in our publications; so with deep gratitude I should like to add my testimony to show how Christian Science has helped me. Never having had a physician or a medical diagnosis in the years that I have been a student of this Science, I have not always known the name of some of the difficulties of which I have been healed.

I wish that every woman who is suffering from difficulties connected with change of life could read this testimony. After several months under Christian Science treatment I received a complete healing of these difficulties, along with such a glorious regeneration of character that I now consider those months as the most fruitful of my whole life.

Although to mortal sense it might appear that my life has been one of numerous trials, in retrospect I realize it has been one filled with proofs of God's love, guidance, and protection. My childhood home was lacking in harmony, wisdom, and daily supply.

My first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of December 29, 1934. Now I wish to thank God for the manifold blessings that have come to me since then.

I shall never forget the first time I entered a Christian Science church and felt the sense of peace which came over me. I realized that the people I saw there had something I had not, and I thought that if all they said was true, there was hope for me.
