Testimonies of Healing
The way in which I was brought into Christian Science has always been a staff for me to lean upon. For many years I had suffered from low blood pressure with its attendant ills.
The testimonies given in our periodicals have always been a source of great encouragement to me, and I realize that I must share some of my experiences so that they may be of help to others. When Christian Science was first presented to me by a dear sister, I knew that I had found the explanation of Jesus' teachings for which I had been searching all my life.
I give thanks daily for the benefits that have come to me as a result of my growing understanding of our Father-Mother God. Among the treasured experiences which have revealed to me God's omnipotence is the following one.
I would like to offer my testimony of the healing power of Christian Science. My heart is filled with gratitude and joy for what this religion has done for me and mine.
About the year 1910 Christian Science was recommended to my mother as a means of healing me of a large internal growth on the side of my neck. The efforts of three doctors in our town had failed to bring relief.
Over twenty years ago I experienced an instantaneous healing of injuries received in an automobile accident. For seven years before this healing I had lived without hope that the future held any happiness for me.
I should like to try to put into words my heartfelt gratitude for the Father's tender and ever-present care. From early childhood, I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School.
When I was in my teens I left home to attend a private boarding school for girls. This move indeed proved a blessing, for through it I found Christian Science.
Christian Science has been a blessing to me for more than thirty years. Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, quotes the following statement on page 266 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "Man's extremity is God's opportunity.
