Testimonies of Healing

So much of good has come to our family through our understanding of Christian Science since my testimony was published in the Journal of October, 1944, that I have felt withholding of further testimony was not in obedience to the command ( Mai. 3:10 ), "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse.

I wish to express my gratitude to God for the teachings of Christian Science and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who devoted her life to giving us this Science. Having attended a Christian Science Sunday School from an early age, I am particularly grateful for the instruction received and for the sure foundation gained there.

Because problems of place and supply confront almost everyone at some time, it may encourage others now facing these problems for me to tell of my experience, the lessons I learned from it, and the wonderful blessings resulting from the diligent application of Christian Science. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy tells us ( p.

For more than twenty years Christian Science has been the way of life in our family. Our children attended the Sunday School from the time they could talk; our physician has been God; and our medicine has been Mind.

I became interested in Christian Science at the age of fourteen, when I experienced a quick healing of inflammatory rheumatism. Christian Science treatment completely healed the difficulty, and, contrary to the medical opinion expressed before Christian Science treatment was requested, I have not had a recurrence of the old attacks and have enjoyed excellent health.

" My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour" ( Luke 1:46, 47 ). Many years ago my little daughter had an annoying kidney condition that caused her to be very restless in school.

Before I became interested in Christian Science, I had' prayed to what seemed to be a faraway God, but my prayers were never answered. I was sad; discouraged, and full of self-pity.

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes on page 393 of Science and Health: "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.

Knowing that the purpose of our testimonies is to glorify God and bless our fellow men, I feel it is time for me to give another testimony showing God's power to heal. My first testimony appeared in the Journal for May, 1951.

I would like to tell how I was led to Christian Science when I was in my early teens. Our family had recently moved to a small town, and on the first Sunday morning after our move my mother told my sister and me to go out and find a Sunday School.
