Testimonies of Healing
" Thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness" ( Ps. 18:28 ).
I came to recognize the healing power of Christian Science ten years ago when I had a painful muscular trouble and pains in the head. Since childhood I had had great faith in God's goodness, and when I at last realized that of myself I could do nothing, I was led in my extremity to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
Over forty years ago a friend asked me to read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
My first testimony was published in the Sentinel of August 22, 1936. Since that time I have had many experiences of healing, protection, and supply.
For the past twenty-four years Christian Science has been a blessing and an unfailing guide in my life. As small children my sister and I attended an orthodox Sunday School fairly regularly; then we became uninterested in attending any more.
I wish to express my gratitude for all the good that has come to me through the ministrations of Christian Science. My mother was healed of tuberculosis through reading Science and Health by Mrs.
What a joyful event it was when I learned through the blessed teachings of Christian Science that we can find harmony, love, health, and holiness—the kingdom of heaven—here and now through spiritual living and thinking! I am grateful for physical healings, including those of hemorrhoids, constipation, influenza, headaches, and effects of accidents. A tendency to allow small things to irritate me, the temptation to blame others if things went wrong, curiosity about the affairs of other people, and the morbid practice of looking back with regret have been banished by a knowledge of their false origin.
I should like to express gratitude for Christian Science and especially for the healing of an infected foot. The healing was the result of mental surgery, which took place through the operation of Truth, as we understand it in Christian Science.

With a heart filled with gratitude I wish to testify to the many blessings and healings I have received through Christian Science. During World War II my family and I were in Indonesia.
