Testimonies of Healing

As I think over the many years that Christian Science has answered our family's every need, it is difficult to select particular instances of healing, for there have been so many. I can list three cases in my own experience of what might be called mental surgery.

I too should like to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science and for the improvement it has brought about in my thinking over the past ten years. There have been many evidences of growth in grace, as well as proofs of God's presence and power, in the overcoming of fear, limitation, and false traits of character.

For many years now the testimonies of healing in our periodicals have been a blessing, and this is being written with a sincere hope that the following experience of mine can be of help to others. When I was serving with the armed forces in Korea, there was much complaint among the men about the great quantities of dust, particularly along the unpaved, but heavily traveled, roads.

I cannot delay further to show my appreciation of Christian Science and of its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, the God-appointed revelator of the truth to this age. At the age of eight I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, where the fundamental truths of this religion were implanted in my consciousness, and they have never left it.

In gratitude for numerous healings I have enjoyed through the study and application of Christian Science and in appreciation of the spiritual growth which has come through these experiences, I humbly submit this testimony. In our ranch home we have a concrete basement which is reached through a trap door and a heavy staircase.

The testimonies in our periodicals have been of much help to me over the years, and therefore I should like to share an account of one of the many healings that I have experienced through the application of Christian Science. One morning about five years ago I was suddenly stricken with a pain so severe at the back of my neck that I was forced to go to bed.

Some years ago I became aware of an internal growth which caused extreme fear on my part. I had been a student of Christian Science for a short time; so I consulted a practitioner.

In gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me during many years, I am happy to submit this testimony in the hope that it will be of help to others. When I first started to study Christian Science I was suffering from tonsillitis and pernicious anemia, both of which were healed after I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

More than nineteen hundred years ago a man lame from birth was healed instantly by the spiritual understanding of Peter and John. He went "walking, and leaping, and praising God" ( Acts 3:8 ).
