While living in another city some years...

From the March 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

While living in another city some years ago, I had reached the proverbial end of the rope and knew not how or where to turn for help. A dear neighbor introduced me to Christian Science; and I began the study, and this led me to membership in a branch church. Later I had the privilege of class instruction. This broadened my whole outlook. I have experienced physical healings, the overcoming of false traits of character, and the improvement of personal relationships.

I am deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who made possible this religion, for through it I have found that each day is a day of God's unfoldment.

In 1953 our company was in the process of digging a water well for the Texas Highway Department. The hole was thirty inches in diameter and sixty-seven feet deep. My husband had gone down to the bottom of the well on a swing to inspect the lowest joint of tile pipe, which was about four feet from the bottom of the well. With a sudden roar the walls caved in, pouring sand all around him. He tried to stand up as straight as possible with his arms over his head. With his hands he was able to push the sand away from his nose so he could breathe. He told his employee to go for help.
