THE OMNIPRESENT CHRIST

From the March 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Individuals sometimes find themselves in a suspended, apathetic state of mind, waiting for something to happen. An understanding of God as Mind, divine Principle, Love, would arouse these individuals to see that right now all good is actually operating in their affairs and that the power of the Christ, Truth, is ever present in human consciousness. These facts, if utilized, would free them from every claim of error.

Perhaps an individual shows indications of creative ability in one of the arts or in the field of science, yet excuses his apathy on the ground that he has not the necessary understanding or wisdom to pursue his talent. He can be healed of this belief of inadequacy through the understanding that the Christ, Truth, reveals Mind's ideas as always present to be used as needed.

When one fearlessly applies himself to each undertaking, remembering the Master's words (John 5:17): "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work," and (verse 30), "I can of mine own self do nothing," he reaps true fruitage as he humbly listens for divine Love's guidance. He comprehends more fully what our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, means when she states (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 508), "The only intelligence or substance of a thought, a seed, or a flower is God, the creator of it."
