MAN CANNOT BE ROBBED

From the March 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Exodus we find the commandment (20:15), "Thou shalt not steal." When this familiar commandment is universally understood and obeyed, no one can be robbed. This state of human affairs not only is possible, but is slowly and steadily approaching.

An enlarged understanding of God and His creation is vouchsafed to students of Christian Science as a result of their study of the Bible, together with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This understanding brings a realization that the time is here and now when it can be proved that man, made in God's image and likeness, the reflection of Spirit, can neither rob nor be robbed.

To prove this truth, one must start with perfect God, who is infinite, eternal, all-inclusive Love. The next step is to consider perfect man, the image and likeness of Spirit or God. Christian Science teaches that God is unlimited, everywhere present Mind. Therefore individual man, the spiritual and perfect man, must be included in God, in all good, encompassed in eternal Love, governed by divine Principle, and consequently never a resident of a material body or a material universe.
