Testimonies of Healing
It is with great joy that I can testify to the healing power of Christian Science. Twenty-six years ago I witnessed the healing of an aunt who had been given but a few months to live because of a so-called incurable blood condition.
For many years Christian Science has been a great comfort and joy. It has given me courage and strength.
In the Christian Science Sentinel of July 28, 1956, the column entitled "Of Good Report" was a reminder of the importance of testimonies written for our periodicals. I realized that, although I have always been grateful for these testimonies and have been blessed through them and the ministrations of Christian Science since it was introduced to me by a student in 1910, I had never sent in a testimony.
In Psalms we read ( 40:5 ), "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to usward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. " Our family's first healing experience in Christian Science came about twenty-five years ago.
It is with a humble and grateful heart that I submit this testimony of the good that Christian Science has brought into my life. For many years I had been dissatisfied with the religious teachings in which I had been brought up.
Looking back over the past fifteen years, during which time Christian Science has been my friend and companion, comforting, guiding, and strengthening my upward journey from sense to Soul, I think it is fitting to express my gratitude for the many blessings received. Because I have so many things to be thankful for, it would be hard to count them all—Mrs.
Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. XVII, Sect.
While writing this testimony I have recalled scores of blessings which have come to me through Christian Science, and I say with the Psalmist (Ps. 36:7) , "How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God!" Many years ago a neighbor lent my mother two copies of the Christian Science Sentinel.
I should like to confirm my testimony which appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of September 30, 1933, and to state that the fear of consumption mentioned therein was completely blotted out. During the years that have followed the publishing of the testimony, I have experienced much joy and happiness.
About five years ago I badly injured my right arm, apparently breaking it in two places. I declared that nothing had happened to a spiritual idea, which I knew in reality I was.
