More than twenty-five years ago I wrote a testimony which appeared in the Journal. Since that time I have had many demonstrations of the truth that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494). Numerous healings have come through the work of practitioners or other students of Christian Science; some healings have come through my study of the Bible, Mrs. Eddy's writings, or the reading of our periodicals.
One Saturday morning I manifested all the symptoms of a cold. Though I prayed throughout the day, declaring the truth and denying the inharmony, I was not healed, and when I awoke on Sunday morning, I was no better. That afternoon I asked myself, "What is the matter with my prayers?" Immediately the answer came with the realization that I had not been expressing love for a woman who evidently disliked me as much as I disliked her.
I denied the suggestion that dislike and antagonism are justifiable and replaced it with the truth that God made His creation good. I saw that God's law is the law of good and that in reality the other woman and I were loving and beloved children of Love. Then I proceeded to read a Christian Science lecture.
