Christian Science Plaza Revitalization Update

We are very pleased to share with you an update related to the ongoing stewardship of the Church Plaza. We know that each forward step is due in large part to the prayerful support of our worldwide church family.
 
First and foremost, our purpose with this project is to support the healing mission of our Church by better utilizing our real estate holdings so that more of our Church’s resources are focused on core activities outlined in the Church Manual.
 
Our previous communication in August 2013, provided a progress report on the design of the Belvidere/Dalton project, which consists of a 60-story hotel and condominium building being developed by Carpenter & Company; and a 26-story rental apartment building being developed by the Pritzker Realty Group. Harry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners continues as head of the design team, which includes Cambridge 7 Associates.
 
Since then, design and permitting has proceeded to the point where Carpenter & Company, along with the Mayor of Boston, Martin J. Walsh, have just announced that Four Seasons will operate the 215-room, 20-floor hotel and will provide services for the 180 condominiums located above the hotel. Construction of the high-rise building is expected to begin late this year and take approximately two and one half years.
 
Progress on the mid-rise rental apartments continues with final approvals currently under review. The Pritzker Realty Group has indicated that construction of the mid-rise apartments is expected to commence prior to the start of high-rise development and be completed in less than two years.
