WHATEVER Christ Jesus said had great metaphysical meaning and deserves our prayerful study. And this is true of his words recorded in Matthew ( 13:33 ), "The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

ARTICLE III, Section 6, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy specifies that all Readers in branch churches must be members of The Mother Church. The rules for the recognition of a Christian Science Society include a similar provision; so when Christian Scientists apply for the recognition of The Mother Church and for a card in The Christian Science Journal as a branch church or as a society, they should have for Readers members in good standing in The Mother Church.

Out of the joys and sorrows of her experience, out of divine revelation and the deep searchings for God and His ways, out of a heart of importunate prayer and spiritual fasting, out of deep-rooted love for all mankind, came the discovery of Christian Science, Then appeared our Soul-inspired textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," setting forth the final revelation of Truth to mankind: Divine Science, the Comforter, as prophesied by Christ Jesus.
The world is in great need of finding something more stable, more abiding than material theories of life. Christian Science points out that the Bible fills that need, for it is a scientific textbook which contains the exact Science of life; it reveals the truth of being.
" The divine understanding reigns, is all , and there is no other consciousness," affirms Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 536 ) Consciousness pertains to God, divine Mind.
