"The divine understanding reigns, is all, and there is no other consciousness," affirms Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 536) Consciousness pertains to God, divine Mind. In fact, Mind is the only true consciousness.
Man is conscious because God is his Mind, his only consciousness. Each idea unfolding in Mind is necessarily conscious. Each spiritual child of God, reflecting the one and only Mind, reflects all within Mind. That there is only one consciousness gives each idea the capacity to recognize, to understand, to commune with, and to enjoy all ideas in Mind.
Christian Science asserts and demonstrates that all creation, all reality, lives and has eternal being in the one Mind or divine consciousness. Since God is good, perfect, complete, it is man's nature to express the divine attributes. Each idea reflects the goodness of God. Each idea, in obedience to God's purpose, reflects wisdom, love, purity, perfection.
