OUR "LOVE-WORK FOR THE CHURCH"

From the October 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science reveals a wonderful vision of Church as a universal and spiritual concept of the coherent, cooperative, rhythmic movement of all God's ideas. Christian Science reveals, through Church, the right relationship of these ideas to God and to one another and proves this relationship to be loving, understanding, joyous, and enlightening.

Church expresses the government of one Mind, and each idea in that one Mind is at one with every other idea. In this state of spiritual consciousness the understanding and appreciation of one another, as well as the love for one another, pervade thought and action. In fact, Church is a heavenly state of consciousness where harmony reigns.

Church, of course, is a collective whole, but it is individually understood and demonstrated. Christian Science reveals God as incorporeal, indivisible, and individual. So Church, which proceeds from individual, indivisible Principle, is, in its completeness, indivisible and individual. There can be no division of interests, no disuniting mortal opinions or human wills, no opposing factions, no envy, no strife in the spiritual idea of Church, for these would claim to divide that which is indivisible and individual.
