One very important point in Christian Science is the doctrine of man's sonship with God. This significant thought, which resounds in the New Testament, is especially adapted to rouse the interest of troubled mankind.
Today the unstilled longing of men for liberation from uncertainty and fear is an indication of the inadequacy of material bases of being. Is there not implicit in this universal longing a conscious or unconscious foreshadowing of a higher, a more rational mode of existence?
Right desire can very well be the first step toward fulfillment. Christian Science directs the thoughts of men to man's spiritual origin, not only acquainting them with the most valuable of all possessions, man's son-ship with God, but also pointing out the way to an effectual apprehension of this fact.
