DEMONSTRATING THE AFFLUENCE OF OUR GOD

From the October 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Our beloved Master, Christ Jesus, never lacked anything that he needed or ever had less than the dominion required for advancing his holy purpose. In all of his works, we may note a sense of abundance. The poor, the deaf, the dumb, the lame, and the diseased were not given mere words of encouragement to bolster up their endurance; they were supplied and made whole; they could speak, hear, and walk. It was Jesus' spirituality that made him the most practical human being that ever lived.

Jesus said (John 14:12), "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." These tender and encouraging words have lightened the heart of many an individual.

What a rousing thought is this: "Greater works ... shall he do." Yet this statement logically follows the inspired Word of the Bible, in which God is revealed as the only power and presence, and man is described as His image and likeness, perfect and complete, forever at one with God. The increasing understanding of these scientific facts enables one to prove dominion over every form of limitation.
