WHILE evil is widely and often openly apparent in the world, it is also sometimes very subtle in its attempts to injure mankind. Some criminal activities today are obviously the result of succumbing directly to evil beliefs.
Among the divine blessings poured out upon humanity through the revelation of Christian Science is the vitalizing of human purposes. Christian Science silences the dirge of Job, "My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
Many thoughtful people have been led to the study of Christian Science through witnessing the healing by its means of various supposedly incurable diseases. These healings, some of which are reported in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel , and later in various editions of The Herald of Christian Science , include tuberculosis, cancer, paralysis, blindness, and other visible manifestations of disease and impairment.
On page 503 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy opens up a marvelous vista to the thought of the student of Christian Science when she refers to the spiritual fact of "the eternal wonder,—that infinite space is peopled with God's ideas, reflecting Him in countless spiritual forms.
FOR centuries readers of the Bible have been impressed and in some instances inspired by the account, in the book of Acts, of Paul's speech to the Athenians in the Areopagus. After commending the evident devoutness of his auditors, Paul referred to an altar he had seen which bore this inscription, "TO THE UNKNOWN GOD;" and then he said, "Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

Many a one fails to attribute to Deity the good which he expresses, but the fact remains that "there is none good but one, that is, God.

A brief survey of the world's history shows a continuing struggle on the part of men to gain liberty, justice, and human rights. These efforts have been rewarded by an encouraging measure of success which has served to stimulate further similar endeavors.
Christian Science is challenging mankind today, probably as it has never been challenged before, as to where it stands morally and spiritually. And there is a great call for this challenge.
