CHRISTIAN SCIENCE emphasizes the irresistible and universal attraction of Christ, Truth, which Jesus implied in his words, "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. " Partly through increased vision, and partly because they are feeling the dire consequences of division, the nations of the world are being drawn into closer cooperation with each other.
IN this age material power, so called, has been developed to an enormous extent. The steam engine, the gas engine, the electrically driven motor, all have emphasized to mankind the sense of material power.
Since the truth of Being is the one basis of being, the search for knowledge of the truth is the search for cause—God. Consciously or unconsciously, scientific men and deep thinkers are reaching out for the fundamental Truth or cause which material sense can neither reveal nor any longer conceal.
The attitude of present-day enlightened humanity toward war indicates that the leaven of spiritual truth is irresistibly operative in world thought. Various human theories and means designed to outlaw war have been promulgated and welcomed by peace lovers.
What a revelation is that which tells of God's allness; which makes God known as omnipotent Mind or Spirit; which declares the glory of His omnipresence! Writing on page 520 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says: "Unfathomable Mind is expressed.
IT is interesting, instructive, and inspiring to note in the New Testament the evidences of the progressive development of Christ Jesus in his teachings and demonstrations. Although he raised three persons from the dead, this, according to the record, was not among his earlier demonstrations.
CHRIST JESUS said, "The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. " Who does not want more of harmony and dominion in place of discord and subjection? On page 118 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs.
FIFTY years ago, in 1883, The Christian Science Journal was started by Mrs. Eddy under the name of Journal of Christian Science.
IN the earlier days of our movement it was no uncommon thing for those joining a branch church to make application at the same time for membership in The Mother Church. This commendable practice is approved by this Board and should be encouraged.
The frequency with which we find heaven and earth spoken of jointly in Scripture indicates their interrelation. Jesus said, "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
