Letters & Conversations
I really loved the computer artwork on the cover of the February 1996 issue of the Journal . And that is just the beginning! I would like to cite three articles that deal with subjects I have been praying about myself.
I have always enjoyed a careful study of words and phrases used in the Bible, and I am a regular reader of your Journal feature "Working with the WORD. " I love it! However, I liked this feature better when it was placed in the center of the Sentinel The Christian Science Sentinel is a weekly magazine The pages weren't numbered, and you could just snap out the double page without ruining the magazine for sharing with others.
Via E-mail You have combined two of my favorite things—the Journal and E-mail. I just am so grateful for the Journal , and especially for the articles that tell about the outreach of the Church.
I am a relative newcomer to Christian Science, although I did read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, and attend Christian Science church services and testimony meetings about fourteen years ago. Now, I am again attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and making use of the church's Reading Room for study.
When a friend lent me a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel The Christian Science Sentinel is a weekly magazine. The Herald of Christian Science is published in twelve languages.
Thank you for the report on the talk that Virginia Harris delivered at the Harvard symposium on "Spirituality & Healing in Medicine. " Her remarks about "God's love and presence holding on to [her]" just after an automobile accident nineteen years ago were most helpful and comforting.
Russian Herald available in special print edition In recent years, interest in Christian Science has been growing steadily in Russian-speaking areas of the world, including Western countries with large Russian communities. To meet this growing interest, The Christian Science Publishing Society has been broadcasting, via shortwave radio, a Russian-language edition of The Herald of Christian Science.
Recently, the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly included this passage Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "Identity is the reflection of Spirit, the reflection in multifarious forms of the living Principle, Love" ( p. 477 ).
I would like to share how perfectly the article "John Wesley, the Founder of Methodism, and early Protestant healing" in the Journal fit in to our Christian Science Society's outreach to our community. It seems the article was intended just for this opportunity! In late April our society received a phone call from a Methodist church in a neighboring town.
The Christian Science Sentinel The Christian Science Sentinel is a weekly magazine. has been very, very helpful to me for the past several years.
