From the September 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I have always enjoyed a careful study of words and phrases used in the Bible, and I am a regular reader of your Journal feature "Working with the WORD." I love it! However, I liked this feature better when it was placed in the center of the Sentinel The Christian Science Sentinel is a weekly magazine The pages weren't numbered, and you could just snap out the double page without ruining the magazine for sharing with others. Now that the feature is in the Journal, it has to be torn out, which spoils the Journal for sharing.

Editor 's note: From time to time we have discussed the best placement for "Working with the WORD" and repeatedly come to the conclusion that it belongs in the Journal, even though it is not possible to make it an unnumbered pullout. We see no reason why one should hesitate to share the Journal after removing the column for one's own use, since the column is mainly for those studying the Bible Lessons for a given month. (Or you could make a photocopy of the column for your personal use.) Also, shouldn't readers of the Journal feel free to do with it as they please—mark it, bend it, or tear out pages? After all, the Journal is a study tool. Perhaps, you and your fellow church members might think of obtaining extra copies of the Journal for sharing.
