Poems

To blossom in thought

From the September 1996 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As petals open to the light
with plan and purpose stirred,
my thought can be in posture right,
responsive to God's Word.

Not mere wish, or idle pose,
it shows me good to do;
for just as beauty comes to the rose,
Truth uplifts my view.

My joy this day is to open wide
my thought, to Mind above,
to grow in grace, in Truth abide—
to flower in God's love.
