For the Practitioner

You in whose uplifted hand the mirror flashes sunlight on the land, take heart! Through your clear sight the multitudes can see their true identity; and if your arms grow weary or the nights increase the burden of your labor, think of those who, through the wasteland, trek towards the dark-dispelling glory of a burning bush. Then lift your gaze unto the holy panorama: see yourself, you who hold a mirror up to Life, likewise depicted as God's image, whole and free.

Here and Now

I know no fairer place nor time Than here and now, Wherein God's presence manifests itself In peace, in showing how And where and why Love marks my path, makes plain His will, Unfolds my destiny. There is no time more opportune than now To learn, and to obey His laws infallible.

Christ Comes to Consciousness

The living Christ with constant light Arouses us from sorrow's night. "Hosanna, hallelujah!" sing To welcome Truth and let it bring The peace that God imparts.

"A still small voice"

Pursued by hate and fleeing for his life, Elijah, jealous for the Lord of hosts, Alone and fearful, stood upon the mount. Destructive forces rent the rocks in twain As winds unleashed their fury; in their wake, An earthquake shook the mountain to its depths; Then fire devoured the stubble that remained.

THE FREEING OF PETER

When he escaped the chains and iron bands, The manacles fell freely from his hands. This wise disciple trusted God so much, The outer gate did not require his touch, But silent, Opened of its own accord.

God 's Love

Bountiful Love So broad, so free, Embracing all eternity, Fill Thou my heart With treasures bright That lift the gloom Of fear and night, That spread abroad The balm that heals. So let us walk In fertile fields, Lifting the load From troubled hearts, Bringing sweet peace Which never departs— God's precious gift To all mankind.

Holy Acquiescence

We wait on God— In holy solitude resign our human hopes, Submissive to His gracious will, silencing The self that would do this or that. Instead, we humbly listen As we pray to know the Father's clear design.

Consecration

Is there room, I wonder, In my consciousness For the Christ to enter and abide? Dear God, cleanse and purify my thought From every selfish whim And mean desire. Furnish my heart with steadfast, unselfed love, With understanding to repel all error's claims.

Royalty

Ambition's chronicles record how closest kin compete to own, by strife of stratagem and sword, exclusive eminence of throne. But see how God's decisive grace empowers everyone to be, in spite of class or realm or race, his own reflected royalty.

A Prayer for Gratitude

Father , may I be grateful and still sing And still rejoice when earthly hopes depart, Knowing that Thy unfailing love will bring Healing and peace to every burdened heart. Above the mists of doubt and thoughts of fear, Thy loving hand upholds and sets me free; May I be grateful for Thy presence here, True joy revealing, perfect harmony.
