Testimonies of Healing

I wish I could tell of all the good things that Christian Science has done for me and also for the others of our family. Our son, now twenty-four years of age, has not tasted medicine since he was a baby, and when he took the physical examination for service in the army he was pronounced one hundred per cent perfect, excepting his teeth, which needed a little attention.

Shortly after coming into Christian Science I noticed that Christian Scientists did not use tobacco. I asked a Scientist the reason why.

About two years ago, while using some dry washing powder I got some in one of my eyes. The pain was very severe.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and my family. The first blessing received was the healing of my son, who had a high fever and was delirious.

I feel very grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me; it is about nine years since I first heard of it through a friend. I was suffering from an internal complaint and had been attended for about two years by several doctors who said I would in all probability develop consumption.

In the third epistle of John we read, "Beloved. I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

With a grateful heart I would like to tell of the many physical healings that have come to me through the study and application of the truth as taught in Christian Science. A stubborn claim of constipation of many years' standing has vanished; the use of glasses, worn for many years, has been dispensed with, and foot plates also worn constantly since childhood have been discarded.

In May, 1919, I was stricken severely with inflammation of the lining of the middle ear. Two operations were performed by a specialist, but the ear became more sensitive constantly and the pains shot through the entire head.

Early one morning, while I was working as an engineer in a large hotel in Boston, my hand was caught in a belt on a small engine. The engine was not running at high speed, but I was drawn into it and thrown over into the space between it and the ammonia condenser.

There are probably few people who have more reason to be grateful to Christian Science than I have, and I wish to tell of a healing which took place in our home over two years ago. In October, 1917, our son, then three and one half years of age, was taken very ill with what was diagnosed as infantile paralysis.
