Testimonies of Healing
The realization of God's love, through the teachings of Christian Science, has freed me from a very painful trouble. Some time ago I suffered from neuralgia, which caused me severe pain.
For the past six years Christian Science has been my only physician and has met my every need. It is therefore with gratitude and rejoicing that I bring this tithe into the storehouse of Truth so that it may bear witness to the efficacy and healing power of Christian Science.
Several years ago I was led to investigate Christian Science, and gradually there has taken place in my consciousness such an eradication of material beliefs that my outlook on life has entirely changed. I had become dissatisfied with my old theological teaching, and had long been searching for something better.
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give the following testimony. I have been interested in Christian Science since the summer of 1918 and have proved its power and received many blessings, all of which are very wonderful, and in the old way of thinking I should have said, "too good to be true," but I know now that the only things that are true are the good things.
It is a privilege to express my gratitude for Christian Science through our periodicals. In 1906, after an illness extending over several years, and after going to the limit with materia medica and surgery, I was led to the study of Christian Science through the life of a dear friend.
I am very grateful for Christian Science; it has always met the needs in our home whenever it has been rightly applied. There have been many times when the way has seemed dark, but the truth has always cleared the path.
For sixteen years I suffered from chronic heart trouble, which was very painful. Various physicians whom I consulted in this connection diagnosed the case as a serious trouble of a heart valve, severe nervous disorders, and weakness of the heart muscles, and sent me to well-known springs for the healing of heart trouble.
I am very grateful for the Christian Science literature, which is a wonderful help along the way, and I am also trying to show my appreciation of it by placing it in receptive hands. The Monitor coming daily is a wonderful educator.
On page 10 of "Rudimental Divine Science" Mrs. Eddy states that "mortal ills are but errors of thought, —diseases of mortal mind, and not of matter, for matter cannot feel, see, or report pain or disease," and this has been abundantly proved to me from the moment that my rebellious attitude toward Christian Science was abandoned.
That divine Love is fully able to supply every human need has been exemplified to me in many ways. Each day adds to my sense of gratitude for the understanding I have of Christian Science and I realize that the truest way to express this gratitude is to give to others that which has been given me.
