Testimonies of Healing
ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO while watering my garden and enjoying the sounds of birds settling in for the evening, I inadvertently stepped backwards off a retaining wall. I fell about seven feet, landing on my back on a sloping concrete path, entangling my legs in a wooden gate.
I FEEL LIKE MY LIFE began last summer. Let me explain.
One Time while studying Jesus' words "I am the light of the world" ( John 8:12 ), I experienced such spiritual illumination that I felt I glimpsed how Jesus could heal ten lepers at once (see Luke 17:12-19). This flash of spiritual insight showed me something of our spiritual reality and how we can heal and be healed quickly through Christian Science treatment.
A Few Months Ago, I landed awkwardly on the basketball court after shooting a basket. I felt immense pain on the underside of my knee and was afraid that I had torn some ligaments, which is pretty common in sports today.
Living In A Country of bicycle enthusiasts, I've come to appreciate riding a bike not only as a mode of transportation but as an enjoyable way to see nature's beauty. I've found this a wonderful time to commune with God, too.
As the author recognized the true nature of God as All and as completely good, she began to see that there was no reality in anything apart from divine good.
I WOKE UP one Monday morning at 5:30 feeling refreshed and inspired from the Christian Science Sunday church service I had attended the day before. I spent some time studying the weekly Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly, praying and doing some writing, as I usually do every morning.
SEVERAL YEARS AGO, I was suffering with unexplained muscle weakness and pain in my legs, arms, and hands. In October 2004, there were times I had to drag my feet to walk and could only hold my hands above my head for a few seconds.
FOR ABOUT SIX YEARS, I had been suffering with varying degrees of pain in my legs and hips—at times almost crippling. I was able to appear to function fairly normally and to keep up a brave front, though often I struggled with the pain.
ONE DAY over 40 years ago, while being driven by a Christian Scientist friend on a sightseeing outing, I started feeling pain in my chest. As the pain became increasingly uncomfortable, my friend drove me home and stayed with me for prayerful and practical support.
