Testimonies of Healing
Several years ago, I awoke one morning feeling very strange and realized that one side of my body was paralyzed. However, I knew from past experience that I could be healed through prayer.
Since I was introduced to Christian Science as a twelve-year-old, I have repeatedly experienced the grace of God, who is infinite Love. I very quickly believed and felt the truth of what the first chapter of the Bible says: “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; .
I began playing volleyball year-round starting in middle school. I took much joy in the sport, partly because I realized that it was a way to express God-given qualities.
Late last summer during an extremely hot and humid afternoon, I noticed that my front garden needed to be watered. In spite of encouragements in news reports to stay indoors, and thinking only about the plants, I proceeded outside to water them.
Company was visiting. It was summer, and we went cherry-picking.
For about thirty years I felt chained down by the fear of speaking among peers and in large areas. This fear was debilitating, to the point that I would have extreme physical reactions to even the thought of speaking in front of others.
Following a long journey from my home in Montevideo, I arrived in the Lunarejo Valley, in the northern part of Uruguay, with a group of fellow hikers. I was looking forward to being able to participate in a hike with them the following day in this scenic part of the country.
I am very grateful to share the following testimony, which helped me understand the healing effect of overcoming fear. When my daughter was about six years old, she came to find me in the church auditorium after a service.
A change of heart and renewed appreciation for church led to a healing I had. For over a year, I had experienced constant pain in one of my legs.
My heart is filled with gratitude for all the blessings I’ve gained through the light that Christian Science has brought to my life. One example of this is a quick recovery from a forehead injury.
