Testimonies of Healing

My healing, which took place about six years ago, was accomplished solely through the reading of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had suffered for many years from pains and severe attacks of colic, believed to be the result of misplaced organs caused by a fall down a flight of stairs when I was a young girl.

One Wednesday afternoon in April nine years ago, I was drawn to look into the window of a Christian Science Reading Room. It seemed to me at that time that I was as far down physically and mentally as it was possible to be.

"YE shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " This truth of which Jesus spoke frees all from human discord, sickness, and death.

MANY a heart has overflowed with gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy for giving us Science and Health, but none has felt more keenly than I the desire to "shout from the top of the mountains" the spiritual joys that have come to me and mine through this wonderful truth. Our physical healings have been many, and the obvious improvement in character has been increasingly apparent ; but most of all, the realization that we are on the right road because we can prove it, is so comforting and encouraging as to make us everlastingly grateful for every challenge we have met.

"Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need. " So writes Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p.

I am very grateful that I grasped the teachings of Christian Science presented to me during many years of attendance at the Christian Science Sunday School. Through the application of the truths I learned there I have been enabled to pass many milestones in my journey from sense to Soul.

Many years ago I became dissatisfied with my church affiliation because I had observed that my prayers, earnestly made in conformity with my highest understanding, were not answered. At this time a friend urged me to take up the study of Christian Science and lent me the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.

This testimony of my healing many years ago by Christian Science should have been shared before now. Previous to my acquaintance with Christian Science or Christian Scientists, I had been studying my Bible and praying for understanding and assurance of its truthfulness.

Christian Science came to our family during my early childhood, and through its protective power I was shielded from all but one of the so-called children's diseases. At the time my mother took up the study of Science, a mild case of chicken pox was quickly healed through the help of a practitioner.
