Testimonies of Healing

I have been a student of Christian Science for many years, although it is fairly recently that I have taken the important upward step of church membership. The first proof of God's constant, loving care came into my experience during the first year that I was away at school.

I am grateful beyond words that Christian Science has taught me to reverse the testimony of mortal sense; that it has led me to explore the spiritual realm of reality. I am also grateful for my Spartan childhood training, which helped me to catch the vision of the necessity for self-discipline and obedience as did our Leader, Mrs.

On page 162 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has written, "The effect of this Science is to stir the human mind to a change of base, on which it may yield to the harmony of the divine Mind. " I am grateful for every testimony of healing and am particularly interested in those that show the "change of base" which brought about the restoration of harmony in each case.

"Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies. " Some years ago it was my privilege to prove the truth of these lines from page 162 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.

"What can we do to work God's work, To prosper and increase The brotherhood of all mankind, The reign of the Prince of Peace?" What more can I do? I can proclaim the love of God. I can acknowledge His loving care for His children.

With gratitude to God I wish to give thanks for the understanding gained through the study of Christian Science. I can sincerely say that this Science is the healing power of Truth to all the peoples of the world who are willing to give it a proper trial.

"Every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" ( Matt. 7:8 ).

[Original testimony in German] After our only son had suffered from a suppurating inflammation of the middle ear, first at the age of four and again at the age of six, he was attacked a third time with this complaint at the age of eight, this time so severely that neither our family doctor nor a specialist was able to cope with the disease. Weeks of confinement to a sickbed in a warm room had so weakened the child that my wife and I felt there was no prospect of improvement.

I became interested in Christian Science through a neighbor who held a Sunday School class in her home. I was allowed to attend, as my mother had been healed by this Science some years before and it was regarded highly by the family.

The simple dignity and grandeur of Christian Science Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings have always been an inspiration to me in many trials. Therefore I am grateful to be able to testify to the efficacy of Christian Science.
