I am deeply grateful for the understanding gained through Christian Science of home as the kingdom of God within us— within spiritual understanding. Christ Jesus has said (Luke 17:20, 21),"The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." What could be more heavenly than to be at home in the kingdom of God?
Having lived from coast to coast and from the North to the South, I have had many opportunities to see fulfilled a true sense of home. When I was moving to the West Coast a number of years ago, the divine idea of home was established in my consciousness through the study of the Bible, of the textbook. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and of the other writings by the same author. A verse from the thirty-second chapter of Isaiah stood out to me: "And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places."
In the chosen locality there were two attractive homes, one of which was quite unusual; but it came to me to take the other one, which I did. Soon afterward, during the rainy season, it was discovered that a leakage in the unusual house was such that the water ran onto the floor. The home in which I was living was comfortable and delightful in every way.
