IT was recently announced in the daily press that Dr. Albert Einstein had discovered mathematical equations which he believes will tie together in one all knowledge of the physical universe. His formulae await proof; but should Dr. Einstein's expectations be fulfilled, we may expect new and unprecedented discoveries in the field of natural science.
We honor men and women whose discoveries in the realm of physics lead to more dominion over material forces, especially when they reveal a way by which to utilize hidden energies for the benefit of mankind. How much more should we honor and revere a metaphysician who, entering a higher realm than physics, revealed the deep things to be found in the Science of divine Mind, in which cause and effect pertaining to real and eternal existence are situated. Such a one was Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Her source of revelation in this Science of Mind was God. The inspired Word of the Bible was her guide. She found in the Scriptures the deep things of metaphysical Science and proved every point by practical application of the laws of God.
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 269), "The categories of metaphysics rest on one basis, the divine Mind." Thus we see in this statement that she tied together all fundamental knowledge in one divine Mind. She discovered that Spirit, not matter, is causative, and she commenced to reason and demonstrate from this basis.
