After thirty years of enjoying the benefits of Christian Science, it is time I expressed my appreciation in a testimony for our periodicals.
Although I did not come to Science for physical healing, but for relief from worry, limitation, and lack, I have had many healings, and to me the most remarkable was that of tuberculosis. It came about in this way. I was refused life insurance for ten years, but did not know the reason. Three or four months after I began studying Christian Science in earnest, I was again examined by three physicians for insurance and was passed without question. They could not understand why I had ever been turned down.
The man who wrote my first application, which the examiners turned down, and also the one ten years later, had become interested in this Science through the healing of his wife shortly before I began studying Christian Science. He later told me that an examiner is not permitted to tell an applicant why he has been turned down, but that the records of his company showed I had been refused a policy because of tuberculosis. This healing took place about thirty years ago, and I have been in perfect health ever since.
