Testimonies of Healing
In 1896, while I was spending the winter in Paris, Christian Science was first presented to my mother, and I wish to express gratitude for the loving thought of an aunt who sent Mother her first copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
It was my privilege to attend a Christian Science Sunday School at an early age, through an aunt who firmly believed in the teaching of Christian Science. My first healing in Science was of measles, which with the help of a practitioner was overcome in two days.
I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it is doing for mankind. I am especially grateful for an experience I had in the healing of diabetes.
Many years ago when I was a child, I was privileged to attend a Christian Science Sunday School for several months. I was much impressed by the spiritual truths taught me there, which brought about a healing of catarrh.
For a number of years I worked in Christian Science to overcome asthma. Practitioners worked faithfully for me, but there seemed to be no permanent improvement.
It is always a privilege to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science, which has been demonstrated many times in our home. A dislocated bone which protruded from the side of our daughter's foot was quickly and perfectly adjusted without surgical aid.
In 1926 I had my first copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Thinking that Christian Science was for the healing of sickness only.
I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings which have come to me through the study of Christian Science. Influenza, colds, tonsillitis, burns, and fear are only a few of the discordant conditions which have faded into nothingness.
For all the proofs of God's care I have had I am grateful. My mother became interested in Christian Science when I was very small, and I had the blessing of attending Sunday School from that early age.
I have been a student of Christian Science for many years, although it is fairly recently that I have taken the important upward step of church membership. The first proof of God's constant, loving care came into my experience during the first year that I was away at school.
