It is always a joy to express my gratitude for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave Christian Science to the world. In my childhood the Bible was read daily in our home, but not until I became a student of Science did I understand it spiritually and use its practical teachings in my daily life.
When a very young student in Christian Science, I pondered the words "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. I thoroughly understood that Mrs. Eddy discovered and founded Christian Science and that she wrote the Christian Science textbook, but the phrase "with Key to the Scriptures" remained vague to me for some time.
My early experience in Christian Science was an unhappy one because the fundamentals of this Science were misrepresented to me, delaying my progress. For a time I was confused. After prayerful and thorough study of the textbook, I was grateful for the realization that the belief that I lacked confidence was false, and the great lesson unfolded that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." Today I am grateful for this experience. It gave me the opportunity to prove the supremacy and reality of good.
