"All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies" (Ps. 25:10). Some six years ago I turned to Christian Science when I became fearful of my business future. I was holding a position where circumstances did not permit me to do my work and where the persons with whom I worked appeared to be antagonistic and unpleasant. My resentment became so great that I resigned. At that time I had not learned that we can apply the truths we learn in Christian Science to a problem where the problem is.
Since that time Mrs. Eddy's writings have enabled me to see in some measure that "the rule is already established, and it is our task to work out the solution" (Science and Health, p. 3). I was guided and protected in my search for right activity and have been led to interesting and remunerative positions beyond my brightest hope. The fear and apprehension I formerly experienced in my effort to cling to a business connection as my source of supply have been replaced to a great degree with the calm assurance that God, good, is the source of all supply and that in His kingdom there is abundance for all.
A recent physical healing stands out as proof that Christian Science heals. I had torn a finger on a wild thorn bush, and an infection set in. The finger started to swell and turn black, and my hand and arm were affected. At first I was quite fearful. The next day I had to take a long car trip with my family. I clung to the statement in Science and Health (p. 385), "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself." A practitioner was helping me meet this difficulty, and I was enabled to overcome my sense of fear. As I drove that next day, I could almost see the infection recede into its native nothingness. Prior to making this trip, I was also healed instantaneously of a heavy fever.
