Testimonies of Healing

Quite a number of years before I became interested in Christian Science, I was prejudiced against Mrs. Eddy; and after taking up the study of this Science, I thought Christian Scientists made too much of her personality.

My parents became interested in Christian Science in 1909 and were both healed of chronic dyspepsia in a few weeks, solely through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

It is with deep gratitude to God that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. When a young child I loved the study of the Bible and attended an orthodox Sunday School and church.

I was reared in Christian Science, and I can recall my mother many years ago telling me that when an infant I was brought back to life by the work of a practitioner. With my mother's passing on I was severed from my connection with Christian Science until our little daughter was healed of a serious illness four years ago.

When it seemed that I had reached the place where I could go on no farther, I was given a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. I had known about Christian Science for as long as I could remember, but had been taught that it was evil, the anti-Christ, and it was only when I became desperate because of the prolonged illness of a child in our home that I was willing to read this book.

" Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. " I had always hoped that the Scriptures would unfold the secret of spiritual healing to the present age.

In 1896, while I was spending the winter in Paris, Christian Science was first presented to my mother, and I wish to express gratitude for the loving thought of an aunt who sent Mother her first copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

It was my privilege to attend a Christian Science Sunday School at an early age, through an aunt who firmly believed in the teaching of Christian Science. My first healing in Science was of measles, which with the help of a practitioner was overcome in two days.

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it is doing for mankind. I am especially grateful for an experience I had in the healing of diabetes.

Many years ago when I was a child, I was privileged to attend a Christian Science Sunday School for several months. I was much impressed by the spiritual truths taught me there, which brought about a healing of catarrh.
