"Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" Isa. 65:24). From early childhood my greatest desire was for better and higher things than materiality. I can recall many cricumstances which prove that God does answer our prayer for spirituality even before we know it is God we are seeking. At a time when I was employed in the office of an attorney, a man entered, and I thought I had never observed anyone with a more loving, spiritual countenance. Later I learned he was a devoted student of Christian Science. Very shortly thereafter this Science was made known to me, and I began to read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and to attend church regularly.
A relative who was making her home with us was in great need of healing. A Christian Science practitioner was asked to give treatment, and a beautiful healing resulted in a short time. This healing was to me a great ray of light and seemed to confirm things I had always believed. I spent every available minute in the Christian Science Reading Room and soon became identified with a branch church. I was healed at this time of extreme frailty and of an organic difficulty of long standing. Although it had been claimed by my parents that I had little physical endurance, as I learned of the motherhood and fatherhood of God and of man as the child of God, made in His image and likeness, I saw that what had been regarded as facts about myself were only false beliefs. It seemed to me this was the most wonderful truth anyone could ever know. With this unfoldment came release from many phases of discord.
Since that time Christian Science has met my every need when earnestly and honestly applied. Our children have known nothing but Science, and grateful are we that we have had this wonderful truth to teach them. They have made many demonstrations for themselves. I should like to express my sincere gratitude for the Christian Science Sunday School, both for the privilege of sending our children to it and for the joy of working in it.
