The question is often asked, '"Is it true that the interest in Christian Science is gaining ground in the minds of the people?" The great call for the books, the magazine, and our crowded Sunday services are sufficient testimony that it is Our teacher is constantly receiving letters proclaiming the good work that "Science and Health" is accomplishing. The healing and converting in this direction go steadily on. Our magazine goes among the best people in the United States and Provinces, and is constantly increasing in circulation. We are already obliged to have a larger hall for our Sunday services, and we hope soon to have a church-building of our own.
The signs of the times are promising. Our practitioners are generally busy, and some of them would feel overcrowded and overworked did they not realize the great source of their strength. Many physicians, standing high in materia medica, admit that Christian Science heals, and go so far as to send what they consider incurable patients to us. Among the clergy we have many friends who are willing to endorse Christian Science.
All this is very encouraging, but much remains to be done. Funds are very much needed to advance the work. Upon our friends, far and near, we call for help for this the "greatest cause." Our church interest needs extending, and we have other important branches of the work that should receive aid. As the interest widens and extends, our financial necessities increase.
