Forrest Home

From the July 1886 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In this beautiful place, provided by the late Edwin Forrest for aged and needy members of his profession, several actors and actresses reside. Among them is one to whom was sent, by a friend, a package of Christian Science Journals. By a happy accident, the package was wrapped in some proof-sheets of Mrs. Eddy's Science and Health. The recipient had never heard of the book before, nor of Christian Science; but she read these scraps, and was so far benefitted that the next morning she astonished her friends by the way she "strode across the long porch." Naturally, she wished to read the whole book, and Mrs. Eddy has kindly presented a copy to the Home, which is at Holmesburg, a suburb of Philadelphia.

The moving Finger writes and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
Nor all your tears wash out a word of it.

Everyone is the son of his own works.
