The Festival of June 17

From the July 1886 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Strawberry Festival at the residence of Mrs. M. A. Batchelder, C. S. B., was a success in every way. As a hostess Mrs. Batchelder excels, and the great kindness and hospitality of herself and husband were greatly appreciated by the Scientists and their friends. It is not every one, possessing such beautiful grounds, who would be willing to throw them open to the same number of people. The prevailing thought was harmony. The proceeds of the affair go towards the new church-building. In every way the festival was a success. In a few days another will be held there, in which we hope still other friends, as well as those before present, will participate.
