Testimonies of Healing

From the October 1903 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As the testimonies of others is a constant help to us in making our demonstrations we should reciprocate by sometimes giving out some of the good that has come to us. We cannot expect to receive blessings without giving something in return.

About two years ago I was afflicted with an enlarged gland of the neck, and received medical treatment from two of the leading physicians in the city, without any results. At this stage I was taken by my last physician before six other physicians for consultation. They differed in their opinions as to the cause and character of the trouble, but it was the opinion of the entire body that I would have to undergo a very serious operation for any possible relief.

At this point, through the persuasion of my wife, who was not a Christian Scientist at that time but knew something of its teachings, I decided to try Christian Science. When I went to a practitioner for treatment, I had been absent from my business three weeks. I returned to work the day after receiving the first treatment, and have not lost any time since. While my healing was not instantaneous my improvement was marked from the beginning and continued until I was entirely healed a few months later. I received regular treatment about two months, and after this only occasional treatments.
