My husband and myself did not come to Christian Science for healing. Our sister-in-law was wonderfully healed, and in a short time. She told us of Christian Science and said that she believed it to be wrong to take medicine and depend upon doctors. This passage from the Bible came to my mind: "Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord."
How glad we are that we bought Science and Health and read and studied it. The Master says, "Seek, and ye shall find:" we did seek, but found more than we ever hoped to find, for have we not found a pearl of great price, which opened the Bible to us, so that its study becomes a blessing?
Through the study of Science and Health one soon finds out where one's idols are, and then it opens the way to obey the first commandment to worship the one God "in spirit and in truth," and it teaches us to pray aright, that our heavenly Father may hear us. If sickness and temptations come to us, we know where to find our comforter and physician, for the Scriptures say: "I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee," and "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Job sets us a good example, when, in spite of all his troubles, he trusted in God and was rewarded.
