While living in Chicago, I was under the doctor's care every day for a long time and employed a specialist for a very severe form of throat trouble,—laryngitis and pharyngitis. Although I had had operations, cauterizing, etc., my throat was so bad that I was unable to sing at all. I lost twenty pounds in a short time, and was very miserable indeed, when the doctor said I could not live in that climate. Then we moved East in there hope that change of air would cure my ills. When East, we traveled around to various places, trying doctors here and there, but I was no better until we settled in East Orange. Here I heard of Christian Science, through which my throat was cured and other ills removed. No one knows how grateful I am to God for the spiritual help and the physical healing. Truly, "Divine Love always has met, and always will meet, every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494).
